Jakarta Selatan is known as the richest region in Jakarta where you can find elite housing, luxurious shopping centers, and of course, elite schools. For this reason, you can easily find the best-accredited school that practices Montessori in Jakarta Selatan.

In the previous article, I give you a list of Montessori schools in Jakarta. Among them, six schools are located in Jakarta Selatan.

In this article, I want to go deeper into the character of each school, that will help you choose the best option.

Schools That Practice Islamic Montessori Jakarta Selatan

If you want to emphasize the implementation of Islamic values in your children’s lives, the following schools in Jakarta Selatan apply Islamic Montessori.

1. Bloom Islamic School

What distinguishes Bloom Islamic School from other Montessori schools are the Tahsin and Tahfidz programs. They also introduce the Arabic language at an early age. Some activities are related to Islamic worshiping such as manasik haji.

2. Green Montessori School

Green Montessori School students can be recognized by their green uniforms. The color green is also often correlated to Islamic values and is commonly used by many Islamic schools as their identity.

But, the reason why the school is named Green Montessori School is maybe because students are taught to be close to nature. Their core philosophies are Islamic Values, Montessori, and Respect for Nature.

Green Montessori School is a good option if you want your children to learn Islamic values continuously because they offer education up to the end of elementary school.

Montessori International Schools in Jakarta Selatan

If you are an expat or your children are already getting used to English as their daily language, you might want to choose international Montessori schools in this area. The English-speaking environment would be comfortable for your children.

Jakarta Montessori School is probably the oldest Montessori school in Indonesia. To be the oldest school, it might also be the most established in terms of its education system. Other than being accredited by the Indonesian Ministry of Education as SPK, it is also accredited by the MEAB (Montessori Evaluation and Accreditation Board) and received international recognition.

2. Jayakarta Montessori School

Jayakarta Montessori School in Kemang also has English speaking environment. Children are exposed to friends from different backgrounds.

3. Green Montessori School

Green Montessori School is also an accredited SPK school.

Montessori Secondary School Jakarta Selatan

While Montessori is popular among preschools and kindergartens, there are few schools that still use the same method up until the secondary school level.

The following schools implement the Montessori method in secondary education.

1. Jakarta Montessori School

As one of the biggest Montessori schools in Indonesia, Jakarta Montessori School provides education up to Higher Secondary School or age 18.

2. Bright School

Bright School Secondary also known as Bright World Academy is a junior high school (SMP) level school. It provides Montessori education up to grade 9 in Junior high school (or up to age 15).

While Jakarta Selatan is known for many of its luxurious facilities, you might want to consider the amount of fee you need to pay for a Montessori education. People often complain about how Montessori education can be very expensive. However, you must also look at the facilities and learning tools that the students can use during their studies, which might not be cheap.

I suggest you consult each school directly whether they can provide discounts or bursaries according to your financial needs. Jakarta Montessori School, for example, mentioned in their parent handbook that they would give financial assistance to a limited number of students who need financial help upon written request and approval from the school foundation.

Try to pay the fees as early as possible, because usually, schools provide discounts for parents who pay in full in advance.
